Be Perfect

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. I was taught that perfectionism is a flaw, and by many clinical psychologists that this attribute is a strong predictor of clinical depression. ( As is defined in their medical book) I was told that I would always be unhappy as long as I was trying to obtain a state of perfectionism, which is impossible. That was the world's perspective. Yet, even more interesting is that when on a job interview, one of the 3 examples they taught me I can use as a weakness- turned into strength... was perfectionism! So which is it? Was it strenth or weakness, and was it truly a Gift or a clinical diagnosis? The English definition of perfect is being in a state of undiminished quality, or highest excellence ; flawless. Is it possible, can we be perfect as Messiah? The answer to that is yes. The New Testament tells us that with every temptation we meet, Yah gives us a way to escape that temptation. He always gives us the Strength to overcome sin. The word perfect in this context really means "Complete" so when we think of our relationship to our Father, naturally we should be totally sold out, solid, firm in our Faith, unmovable, unshakeable. Whenever we feel the adversary pressing down, we already have all the right tools and instruction is in his word how to counteract and persevere. We are no longer victims. We are the watchman, the warriors. 1John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. Lets look at the opposite of perfect love and its definition... [Torment] Torment- 1) severe physical or mental suffering *synonyms: agony, suffering, torture, pain, anguish, misery, distress, affliction, trauma, wretchedness 2)cause to experience severe mental or physical suffering. *synonyms:torture, afflict, rack, harrow, plague, haunt, bedevil, distress, agonize The word says, There hath no temptation taken hold of you but such as is common to man. But Yah is faithful; He will not suffer you to be tempted beyond that which ye are able to bear, but with the temptation will also MAKE a WAY to ESCAPE, that YOU may BE ABLE TO BEAR IT. Clinical Depression is torment. Anyone who has sufferred from this demonic force knows its heavy. Worry, doubt, fear, these are all torment. They are not operating in the Rauch, on the contrary they are from the adversary, and exude anything but 'perfect love'. When operating in these torments of the mind, its no wonder how to some, keeping the holy Commandments of Yah can cause sincere despair and an overwhelming sense of demands that the thought of achieving a state of flawlessness seems impossible. Hear me out though beloved ones, you are more than a conqueror in him. As it is written Romans 8:31-39 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If Yah is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?33 Who will bring any charge against those whom Yah has chosen? It is Yah who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Messiah Yahoshua who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of Yah and is also interceding for us.35 Who shall separate us from the love of Messiah? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of Yah that is in Yahoshua Ha Mashiach. Completeness in Messiah does not mean that we never make mistakes, because we do all the time. Obviously we are always in need of chastizement, and a good Father always corrects his children. We are in a neverending 'process' of perfection, and this is achieved as we follow through with obedience, strive to keep every law in love, and aspire to reach for the higher calling. Its the journey we are on. We fly glory to glory, until the very end when we will obtain our fully glorified state and body. Only our heavenly Father can see us as we truly are without the mask, we are not hidden from him, nor is he hidden from us. He has totally reveiled his Glory to us, and we stand face-to-face with our reality. To me, this is so powerful, because man will never be satisfied as long as he is in denial of reality. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of YHWH, are being TRANSFORMED into the SAME IMAGE from GLORY to GLORY, just as from Yahoshua, the Rauch. 2 Corinthians 3:18 Messiah was our true example of unconditional love; selflessness. If he had ever just thought to himself, this is too hard I can't do it, none of this would have been possible. Every second of his life he sacrificed flesh. He worked hard, he fought for what he believed in, he had Faith unmovable, the boldness to come in Authority that even the Pharisees had not ever heard. Most important, He loved Father with his whole heart, and he perfectly obeyed the Torah. Yah commanded the Israelites in Deuteronomy 18:13 to... “Be perfect before יהוה your Elohim" King Solomon instructed the Israelites.. “Let your heart therefore be perfect to יהוה our Elohim, to walk in His laws and guard His commands, as at this day.” 1KI 8:61 In the Old Testament, we see having a perfect heart refers to a state of exclusive worship, without idolatry, being wholly obedient to Yah’s will, and being undivided. (Echad) In the new Testament we have a very great example to adhere to as Jesus spoke to a man who had a very important question... “What good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?” Messiahs response? “KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.” After the man claimed, “All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?” the Savior explained, “If thou wilt be perfect [teleios], go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me” see Matthew 19:16–21 So again, here is Messiah sharing total surrender, selflessness, and love with all the heart and might.. as being perfection. It was not just about keeping the Commandments it was about the commitment. Loving someone is a commitment for life. It means giving EVERYTHING YOU HAVE, LEAVING NOTHING FOR YOURSELF. Having the continuous loyalty, not holding a grudge to the sacrifices necessary, having humility to surrender to the Elohim of Sovereign superiority, recognizing we are so small in comparison to El Shadaii, and the healthy FEAR of disobeying him, is the beginning to the wisdom that leads to perfect love. Proverbs 9:10 FEAR of YHWH is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy one is understanding

Heavenly Father we thank you that you have given us everything we need to succeed. You never give us more and we can bear. In this way, we have you Messiah as our holy example of how to live our lives, how to love one another, how to overcome the adversary, and how to be obedient in all areas of Our Lives. We want to Become conformed to your will, living entirely for your glory, being as perfectly devoted to your service, and rise to the rule of duty and measure of your expectation. You have told us to Be Perfect, and we want to strive to love you with all our hearts and all our might. We know you demand our whole heart, our whole life, and all our strength. Father help us remain obedient and courageous, and be our constant guide and leadership in a world that seeks to tear us apart. Cover us with your shield, and replenish us through and through with power from on high, anoint us with the Rauch Ha Qodesh. Help us to have understanding and wisdom to learn all of your Commandments and statutes, and likewise help your people not become overwhelmed. You said your yolk is not burdensome. Your commands are not too hard and for the ones who will obey they are a blessing. Father send forth your word to penetrate the hardest of hearts today, and reveal your truth to them in a Mighty way. We praise your holy name YHWH... HalleluYAH
